Livingstone RARA FC HistoryLivingstone FC were formed in 1981 when they joined the Croydon Sunday League in Division 9. Without actually coming top of the table, we worked our way up the Divisions with promotions for coming runners-up and by 1994 we were in the 3rd Division. Four years previously we set up a 2nd XI and it was in 1994 that the club won its first ever trophy when the 2nd XI won Division 9 of the Croydon Sunday League. This sparked a successful period of time for the club, winning trophies nearly every year since then. In 1995 the 1st XI won the Double by winning the 3rd Division and the Croydon Intermediate Cup. In 1996 the 1st XI won Division 1 without losing a game and reached the final of the Surrey Intermediate Cup. That same year we formed a 3rd XI. In 1998 the 1st XI joined the Morden District League and won the Premiership at our first attempt. The 2nd XI won Division 6 of the Croydon League and also finished runners-up in the Croydon Junior Cup. In 1999 the 1st XI were runners-up in the Premier Division and the 2nd XI were runners-up in Division 4 but also won the Croydon Intermediate Cup. A fantastic yearThe year 2000 was a fantastic year for the club, the 1st XI won the London Senior Cup, the 2nd XI won Division 2 and the 3rd XI won Division 6. 2001 was by far our greatest moment as the 1st XI won the Treble by winning the Premiership, The Surrey Senior Cup and the League Cup and we were only thwarted in extra-time of the London Senior Cup Final. In 2002 the 1st XI retained the Premiership title and the 2nd XI were runners-up in Division 9. Two seasons ago the 1st team were proud to announce the arrival of Jeff Ray as manager finishing 3rd in the League only 3 points behind the eventual winners. We also entered the FA National Cup for the first time in our history reaching the 3rd round. Season 2007-08 saw the 1st team win the Leatherhead and District Charity Senior Cup. Unfortunately, this was their last trophy as they have now sadly, disbanded The 2nd team reached 2 semi-finals, and finished a very close 3rd in the League, we are hoping they will turn these opportunities into silverware in the near future. The Vets arrive2004 saw the introduction of our Vets side, with the success continuing as we won the 1st Division and reached the final of the League Cup. In 2005 we completed a treble by winning the League title for the second year running, the League Cup and the Millennium Cup. In 2006, we won the League for the 3rd successive season, the Millennium Cup for the 2nd successive season and we were runners-up in both the London Cup and the League Cup. 2007-08 saw us win another treble, winning the League for a 4th successive season, the Millennium Cup for the 3rd successive season and for the first time we were delighted to win the Surrey County Cup. In 2008-09 we won the London County Cup Final 3-2 (AET) vs Harley United in a hard fought game, we won the Millennium Cup and we were runners-up in both the League and the Surrey County Cup. In the 2009-10 season, Livingstone Vets reached the final of the National Vets competition before losing 2-0 to Euxton Villas FC. Despite the disappointment of losing this game, we went on to reclaim the League Championship and defeated Mayfair United 3-2 in a pulsating game to win the League Cup. |
